Bizarre! Man watches Bigg Boss during critical open brain surgery
Doctors need silence and concentration while performing surgery in the operation room. But, a bizarre incident of open brain surgery has been reported in Andhra Pradesh where a 33-year-old patient watched Salman Khan’s show, Bigg Boss during brain surgery.
According to media reports, in order to stay awake, the patient watched the reality TV show as the doctor performed the surgery.
The incident took place in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
To perform the rare and critical open brain surgery, the man had to be kept awake. Therefore, doctors at a private hospital in Guntur conducted the surgery.
Reportedly, the surgery was performed to remove recurrent glioma in the left premotor area abutting the motor cortex.
The patient was identified as Vara Prasad who was admitted to Brinda Neuro Centre, Guntur for brain surgery. Surprisingly, the entire surgery was performed while keeping Vara Prasad awake.

While doctors removed the tumour, the patient enjoyed the show, Big Boss and the Hollywood movie, Avatar.
Earlier in 2016, Vara Prasad was operated on, but he was not able to recover fully. The doctors who performed the rare and critical brain surgery are-- Dr BH Srinivas Reddy, Dr Seshadri Sekhar (neurosurgeons), and Dr Trinadh (Anaesthetist).
After the successful operation and recovery, Vara Prasad was discharged from the hospital on Saturday (November 21).
