In an appalling incident reported from United States of America’s Dallas, two male siblings allegedly partook in a sucide pact and killed their family members. At least six people were found dead at their abode on Monday. The incident became known when a family friend of the deceased called the police and apprised them that one of them was suicidal.
At approximately 1 am on Monday, the police arrived at the house situated on the 1500 block of Pine Bluff Drive and discovered the dead bodies. The dead were identified as Altafun Nessa, Iren Islam, Towhidul Islam, Tanvir Towhid, Farhan Towhid and Farbin Towhid.
According to Sergeant Jon Felty, the two teenaged siblings allegedly entered into a suicide pact and killed their parents, sister and grandmother. Farhan's social media handle also had a link to a letter that warned of the incident. As per the police, the episode happened on Saturday.
A man, identified as Shawn Ahsan, who was known to the family stated that Towhidul Islam was "proud" of his kids. Ahsan further added that he called Towhidul on Sunday and became anxious when there was no response. The man stated that he learnt about the incident through a friend on Monday and said, "You gotta be kidding me. I couldn’t breathe for 20 minutes, to be honest with you, I was crying in my office."
According to Dallas News, a neighbour of the family, identified as Ahmad Hossain said that Nessa lived in Bangladesh and was visiting her family. She said that she was supposed to leave for Bangladesh last week but was unable to travel because the pandemic. He said, "It’s sad that happened to her, if she’d gone, she (would have survived)."
Sahnewaz Hossain, Ahmad Hossain’s wife, called to mind, "The mom always talked about the boys, how they’re good in studies, how they’re getting into good schools with scholarships. Every time I would come home, I’d tell my kids how good they were doing. They were a fun-loving, simple family."
