Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated on Saturday that closure and accountability were required after Iran stated that it had unintendedly knocked down a Ukranian plane, which killed 176 people.
He also called for transparency, and justice for the families of the victim, of whom great numbers were Canadian dual citizens.
"This is a national tragedy, and all Canadians are mourning together," Trudeau's office said in a statement.
