A powerful earthquake has hit near the Alaska coast on Tuesday in the United States. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), earthquake intensity was recorded 8.2 magnitude. Meanwhile, The tsunami warning has also been issued by the US Tsunami Warning Center. Warning of the tsunami has been released to many parts of Alaska and to Canada. Although the entire western coast of America has been asked to monitor the tsunami.
It is reported that earthquake tremors have been felt from 256 km southeast of the city of Chiniak in Alaska. The USGS has said that the earthquake occurred at around 9.35 in the morning at the local time on Tuesday. The center of the earthquake was in the depth of 10 km.

"If you are located in this coastal area, move inland to higher ground. Tsunami warnings mean that a tsunami with significant inundation is possible or is already occurring," Anchorage Office of Emergency Management said in a warning for Alaska and British Columbia.
"Based on all available data a tsunami may have been generated by this earthquake that could be destructive on coastal areas even far from the epicenter," the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said.
