Shocking! Man lived with his 92-year-old mother's dead body for a year to collect pension

A 62-year-old man lived with his 92-year-old mother’s dead body for a year to collect pension on her behalf. The man has been arrested after spending almost a year with the rotting corpse of his mother. The man was arrested after his neighbours complained about a ‘strong smell’ coming out from his flat.

The man was from Madrid, Spain and was arrested by local police at around 1 pm on Wednesday. According to local people the police and firemen had to break down the door of the apartment when they found a homemade sealed coffin.

The body was later taken away by the forensics team for examination but it was apparent that the old woman had been dead for a very long time. Neighbours claimed that they had not seen the elderly woman for around a year.

'The son did not do what he should have done,' the spokesman said, adding that the man lived in the flat with his mother's remains for 'several months, possibly almost a year'.
