Pakistan Plane Crash: ‘I could hear screams from all directions’, ordeal of one of the survivor

May 22 was a horror-struck day in Pakistan due to the plane crash in the city of Karachi which killed 92 people. The crash took place just a few minutes before the landing.

Out of the total passengers in the plane only two passengers could survive after the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Airbus A320 came down in a residential area.

In the crash, 92 deaths had been confirmed by the health authorities in Singh province.
Meanwhile, the cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.

One of the survivors named Muhammad Zubair revealed his ordeal about what happened before the plane crash.

Horrified survivor:

The flight PK8303, an Airbus A320 carrying 91 passengers and eight crew, including many families were going their home from Lahore, for Eid celebration ahead of Sunday.

The plane was attempting to land at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at around 14:30 local time (09:30) when the crash took place.

Zubair was one of the survivors who suffered only minor injuries and said that the plane attempted one landing and then crashed 10-15 minutes later, BBC reports said.

"No-one was aware that the plane was about to crash; they were flying the plane in a smooth manner," he said.

After the crash, he lost his conscious, and then when he woke up, he heard screams from all directions.

"I could hear screams from all directions. Kids and adults. All I could see was a fire. I couldn't see any people - just hear their screams”, Zubair said.

“I opened my seatbelt and saw some light - I went towards the light. I had to jump down about 10ft (3m) to get to safety,” he added.

However, the appalling plane crash took place days after Pakistan resumed its commercial flight after giving some relaxation in lockdown due to coronavirus.

Meanwhile, 92 deaths have been confirmed by the officials, but it is yet to know that how many of the dead were passengers and how many residents on the ground were killed.
