An elderly couple has died after both contracted the contagious coronavirus from a cruise ship, their pastor said.
As per the media reports, they were holding each other's hands when they died. Their funeral was also live-streamed on Monday in Long Beach, Mississippi.
The couple has been identified as Jerry Austin Williamson and his wife, Frances Jewel Bond Williamson.
During the live streaming, the pastor said that Jerry and Frances, both 72, died six minutes apart after spending 50 years of their married life.
The pastor also added that the couple had contracted the virus from a cruise ship and said that the couple loved the cruise, didn’t realize how dangerous the virus was at that time, according to The Sun Herald.
However, it is not clear from where the couple contracted the virus. Frances and Jerry had two children, Delora Willamson Ingerson and Jerry Williamson II, as well as other relatives.
During the funeral, Jerry’s body was draped in the US flag in honor of his longtime service to the Navy, where he was employed until his retirement as a public works supervisor in Gulfport.
While Frances was worked as a phlebotomist, a health care worker who specializes in drawing blood from patients.

On an online obituary for the couple, mourners wrote heartfelt tributes to the Williamsons.
