Disturbing visuals show bin bags stuffed with cats and dogs in China go viral

Amid lockdown in China, some petrifying images and videos of bin bags stuffed with cats and dogs have surfaced on the Internet.

Chinese officials reportedly killing pets whose owners have contracted COVID-19.

As per China’s zero-COVID policy, everyone who tests positive for Coronavirus must quarantine at designated sites for an unspecified amount of time.

Reportedly, when people having coronavirus are being shifted to the quarantine centres, police are entering their homes and killing their pets, over fear they spread the virus further.

The horrifying visuals of animals being chucked in bin bags were first shared on Twitter along with a caption, “26 million people in lockdown in Shanghai.”

In the videos, some dead and some alive animals can be seen stuffed in several large transparent sacks tossed on the side of the pavement.

According to reports, Shanghai is the epicenter of the Coronavirus outbreak in China and residents have been under a draconian-style lockdown for over five weeks.

As per media reports, the city has reported over 320,000 COVID cases since early March.
