After COVID-19, Hantavirus claims one life in China; netizens go berserk

After coronavirus eruption from China, another virus named Hantavirus has come to light which killed one man, media reports claimed.

According to Global Times, a man in China’s Yunnan province passed away after contracting the virus on Monday while he was on his way back to Shandong Province on a chartered bus and died shortly.


Reports also claimed that at least 32 people have been tested and are awaiting results.

Since this news broke out, people are getting panic and even calling it COVID-19 pandemic-like virus.

According to the Centre for Disease and Prevention (CDC), Hantavirus is caused by rodents. The major relief is the Hantavirus cannot be passed from person to person, but it can affect one if a person touches his/her mouth, eyes, nose after touching urine or nest materials of rodents.

Even healthy individuals are at risk for HPS infection if exposed to the virus," says Global Times.

The symptoms of Hantavirus is quite similar to coronavirus symptoms such as headache, fever, abdominal pain, etc.

Just like coronavirus, no vaccine is there to treat the affected patient.

Meanwhile, netizens are panic about another virus and brought the Internet by storm.
