Kaun Banega Crorepati has landed in trouble for one question that was asked on Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on November 6 episode.

After the episode, the Sony TV show hosted by Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been backlashed on social media and #BoycottKBC trends on Twitter.
Big B asked the question of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Wednesday evening.

The question was 'Which of these rulers was the contemporary of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb?' and the options were Maharana Pratap, Rana Sanga, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and Shivaji.

The show denoted the Maratha warrior only as Shivaji which has hurt the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra and they took to Twitter, show anger against the show.

However, Sony TV has released an apology statement and also captioned the video of the show.

“There was an inaccurate reference to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during Wednesday’s KBC episode, due to inadvertence. We deeply regret the same and being mindful of the sentiments of our viewers have carried a scroll expressing regret during our episode yesterday,” Sony TV wrote in an apology tweet.

However, the micro-blogging site has been flooded with negative comments.
