Nowadays Jhanvi Kapoor is hitting the headlines since she made her debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak alongside Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishan Khatter. The actress is soon going to hit the theatres this year with Gunjan Saxena’s biopic. However, before that, she is going to make a digital debut on Netflix with Zoya Akhtar’s series.
After Lust Stories, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee are coming back with Ghost Stories starring Mrunal Thakur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Avinash Tiwary, Surekhan Sikri, Gulshan Devaiah and Vijay Varma apart from Janhvi Kapoor. As soon as the series started streaming on Netflix netizens are in awe of her.
Also, Twitter is applauding Dibakar Banerjee’s story followed by Zoya Akhtar while Anurag’s story is being called creepy by Twitterati. Here have a look at what netizens have to say about Janhvi and the series.

1) Zoya’s one is scary at first but then kinda predictable. Jahanvi was good actually. She has good screen presence.

2) Anurag’s one, I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS please someone answer them. Not scary but VERY CREEPY probably the creepiest thing I’ve ever watched. #GhostStories
Holy shit that was bad. #GhostStories on @NetflixIndia is the worst thing to happen to Indian cinema since #Dabang3 . Bad script, bad direction (except Zoya’s one, which initially did grab my attention but failed later on) bad everything. Not scary but a boring crap fest it was.

Janhvi was very good in Zoya's segment. Way way better than what she did in Dhadak. 💁🏻♂️ #GhostStories pic.twitter.com/7BJ4jjkzNl

Saw #GhostStories and this horror anthology isn’t scary & scream-inducing. The horror element was missing. It losses the grip so early. Only Dibakar’s story has a spark. Other stories don’t engage with the weak screenplay. Ghost Stories couldn’t impress me. It’s an average piece. pic.twitter.com/xwfOvWENbW

Zoya’s story builds on you. Janhvi nails the emotions and Surekha is haunting.
There is monster horror plus post-apocalyptic theme, psychological thriller and supernatural horror spread over four different segments. Given that not all are striking originals, they do seem well in the mix with their tropes. Cinematic images and visuals keep you hooked and your worst fears come alive on screen. Since they are well thought out stories and relatable characters, you feel reality and fiction blurring and if that is 'horror', Ghost Stories is true to its ominous taste.
