The decision was taken after a day when Microsoft said that it had thwarted Russian cyber-attacks against US conservative groups.
Earlier on Tuesday, Facebook said that it had found some multiple accounts that were displaying ‘inauthentic behaviour’ which were also linked to a campaign that originated in Iran and Russia.
According to the reports of BBC, ‘We ban this kind of behaviour because we want people to be able to trust the connections they make,’ the company said in a statement.
However, the investigation is still in progress. As per the social media company, it is believed that the campaign aimed at targeting the people across the multiple internet services in the Middle East, Latin America, US and the UK.
Earlier on Monday, Microsoft said Russian hackers had tried to steal data from political organisations, including the International Republican Institute and the Hudson Institute think tanks.
