Indian Government has approved the plan to provide the service of internet calling with the help of Wifi and broadband in the absence of the mobile network. Call drop and no network connectivity is a common issue faced by mobile users in the country. Soon, users will be allowed to call at mobile and landline with the help of wifi. The central government gave go-ahead to the internet calling service in the country.

Apart from the telecom operators, other companies can also obtain the license for providing the internet calling service. To avail this service, users don't have to buy a SIM card instead companies will provide a new number. Users can activate the service after downloading the telephone app. The Telecom policy maker TRAI approved this plan in October 2017. The aim of approving the project is to resolve the issue of call drop.

The interim committee of Telecom ministry gave the green flag to this proposal. After this move, the path of providing internet calling service has been cleared. Arvind Kumar, the advisor of TRAI said this new order will help to provide the new communication service to the people in the country. Customers will have the multiple options in the area with the low mobile network.

The process of calling from the internet is simple, users have had to download their operator's app. After this companies will release a number for the customer. Means, If you are using an Airtel SIM but want to connect with Jio internet calling service then you have to use another number.
