"Jobs Near Me" trends on Google

Since 2016, ‘Jobs Near Me’ has seen a spike in the search on Google in India and has remained in the Top 10 search category as per a report by the Google’s “Year in Search” results.

The phrase “Jobs near me” was in the top 10 in 2018 searches and since 2016, it has picked up its pace which signifies the level of unemployment in the nation, not exactly but it does sends a signal.

The graph of interest in the “jobs near me” has been mild and flat between January 2004 and December 2018 but ever since the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi came to power, the searches have changed, and since 2016 it has grown steadily over the period of time, becoming Top 10 in 2018.

Region wise, the search “jobs near me” has topped in Secunderabad in the last 15 year-period and followed by Thane, Navi Mumbai, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Gurgaon, Bengaluru, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bengaluru.

Google’s new tool has helped in tracking the results and while announcing about another new tool, the Goggle said, as reported by The Indian Express, “in Q4 of 2017, we saw a jump of more than 45 per cent in jobs search queries compared to the previous year. More than 50 per cent of job-related queries originates from mobile which is unsurprising for India where the majority of Internet users are getting online from their smartphones. And these mobile-based queries are up nearly 90 per cent year on year.”

Now, its up to the data provided by the central government which needs to correspond over the employment being generated.
