Violent Clash at Hospital Entrance: 5 Arrested in Murder Case

Kolkata (West Bengal): Following a brutal murder incident at the entrance of Chandannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital, the police have taken stringent measures to ensure security in the area. In this connection, the police have arrested five accused individuals. According to sources, Supriya Santara, a resident of Bhadrashwar, was brutally beaten to death by a group of people in front of the hospital gate on Tuesday. The incident led to tension in the hospital premises, but the police later came and controlled the situation.

Supriya's family filed a complaint with the Chandannagar Police Station, which led to the arrest of five people, including a woman. The arrested accused are Vijay Das, Tarun Roy, Devdas, Prashant Roy, and Aparna Roy. All five accused were produced before the Chandannagar Sub-Divisional Court, which sent them to 14-day judicial custody. Hospital Superintendent Santu Ghosh condemned the incident, stating that they had demanded police security earlier but did not receive it. Now, after the murder incident, the police have provided security, but its duration remains to be seen.

The incident occurred when Supriya Santara was involved in an accident with Gautam Das, a resident of Bhadrashwar, near the hospital entrance. Supriya took Gautam to the hospital, where the incident unfolded.
