Vidisha: In protest against the brutal rape and murder of a young female doctor at Kolkata's RG Medical College, medical teachers, JUDA, and students of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College in Vidisha staged a demonstration. The protesters first paid tribute to the deceased doctor by lighting candles and holding a condolence meeting. They then strongly condemned the heinous incident and demanded a high-level investigation to be completed as soon as possible, leading to the arrest and severe punishment of the accused.

The protesters also demanded that the government take immediate action to improve the security of medical institutions in India and ensure swift action against those involved in violence against medical personnel. They emphasized that such incidents should not be allowed to happen again and that the accused should be given severe punishment to serve as a deterrent.

A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister and the Medical Education Minister by the Medical Teachers Association and the Junior Doctors Association, demanding better security arrangements for doctors, including an increase in the number of female security personnel, modern security standards in doctor duty rooms, and improved security arrangements in the college campus.
