Shahpura (Rajasthan): To prevent diseases like dengue and malaria, people can use burnt engine oil, according to Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr V.D. Meena.
He stated that during the changing weather, water accumulates around our homes, and it is essential to ensure proper drainage to maintain cleanliness. If water accumulation is unavoidable, and mosquitoes are breeding, then burnt engine oil can be sprinkled on the water to prevent the growth of mosquito larvae.
Dr. Meena emphasized that a little caution can go a long way in protecting ourselves from these deadly diseases. Mosquito bites can spread diseases like malaria and dengue, which can be fatal. To prevent this, people should sprinkle burnt engine oil in the accumulated water around their homes, which can help control the spread of these diseases to a great extent.
However, even with these preventive measures, Dr Meena advises people to consult a doctor if they experience any symptoms like fever or other signs of illness. Early treatment can prevent the severity of these diseases.
