Madhya Pradesh: Medical College Deans Demand Budget for Hostel and Hospital Maintenance

The deans of medical colleges in the state met with Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla

Gwalior: The deans of medical colleges in the state met with Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla on Sunday and demanded a budget for the maintenance of hostels and hospitals, as well as the development of lecture halls and display rooms into smart classrooms.

During the meeting, the deans briefed Shukla on the operational requirements of the colleges, including infrastructure development, administrative setup, financial needs, and maintenance.


They informed him that the lack of staff and absence of financial officers in many places were causing difficulties.

They also highlighted the need for maintenance of buildings during the rainy season but lamented that there was no budget for it. Additionally, they emphasized the requirement of a budget for the maintenance of equipment.

Shukla assured the deans of his support and promised to provide necessary assistance soon. The deans also requested a policy to facilitate the participation of doctors in national and international conferences.

Those present at the meeting included Dr RKSDhakad, Dean of Gajra Raja Medical College, along with deans from Sagar, Bhopal, Rewa, Shivpuri, Vidisha, and Datia medical colleges.
