Jaisalmer: In a significant development, the Roadways fleet has been bolstered with the addition of five new buses, taking the total number of buses to 27. This comes as a welcome relief to passengers, who will now have a more comfortable and convenient travel experience.
Two months ago, the Jaisalmer Roadways Depot received five new buses. With the latest addition, passengers will now have the facility to travel in 10 new buses. Before this, the depot was operating with 17 buses, following the expiration of the contract for 10 old buses in May this year.
The new buses will provide a more comfortable travel experience for passengers, who will no longer have to face the inconvenience of old buses. The new buses are equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey for passengers.
The addition of new buses will also provide relief to passengers travelling on long routes, such as Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Barmer. The new buses will also cater to the increasing passenger demand on these routes.
Waiting for Bus Stand
The Jaisalmer Depot, which was accorded the status of a full-fledged depot in 2013, is still awaiting its bus stand. The depot, located in the heart of the city, has a plot of land measuring 9 bighas and 1 biswa, allocated by the state government in 1970. Currently, the depot's office and workshop are functioning from this premises.
The development of a bus stand at this location will not only provide relief to passengers but also help streamline the city's traffic management system. It will also provide a convenient facility for tourists visiting the city.
Smoother Journey Ahead
"With the addition of new buses, passengers can now look forward to a more comfortable and convenient travel experience. The long routes will no longer be a hassle, and the new buses will ensure a safe and comfortable journey," said Deepak Kumar, Chief Manager, Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, Jaisalmer Depot.
