Sri Ganganagar: In a bid to tackle the outbreak of fever in Shri Ganganagar, the Health and Water Supply Departments have swung into action. The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Ajay Singla conducted a thorough inspection of the Community Health Centre (CHC) on Tuesday and issued strict instructions to survey every household in the area.

The CMHO directed the health officials to collect water samples from various sources, including RO plants and street vendors, to identify the source of the outbreak. The team also collected blood samples from fever patients and conducted door-to-door surveys to gather information about the spread of the disease.

According to sources, the CMHO instructed the officials to take necessary measures to create awareness about the disease among the public and to take strict action against those who are not taking precautions. The team also collected samples of sauces and chutneys from food vendors to check for any contamination.

The Water Supply Department has also taken cognizance of the situation and has started replacing old pipes to prevent contaminated water from spreading the disease. The department has issued notices to around a dozen households to replace their old pipes, failing which their water connections will be disconnected.

It is worth noting that the outbreak of fever has been reported in the area for the past month, with over 500 patients visiting the CHC every day. The local administration has been criticized for its slow response to the crisis, but with the CMHO's intervention, the situation is expected to improve.

This newspaper has been consistently highlighting the issue and has published a series of reports on the matter. Our reports have led to the administration taking concrete steps to address the problem.
