Alwar: With the onset of the monsoon, the threat of seasonal diseases is increasing rapidly in the region. Government and private hospitals are witnessing a surge in cases of jaundice, vomiting, diarrhoea, malaria, and typhoid.
Doctors have appealed to the public to avoid contaminated food and maintain cleanliness to prevent the spread of these diseases.
According to doctors, the fluctuating temperature and humidity are creating a conducive environment for the growth of bacteria and viruses, leading to an increase in cases of dengue, malaria, and bacterial infections. If timely measures are not taken, the larva of dengue and malaria mosquitoes will start breeding, posing a significant threat to public health.
Rise in Cases of Gastroenteritis
Doctors have warned that gastroenteritis is one of the most common diseases that spreads through contaminated food and water. During monsoons, the lack of cleanliness and unhygienic food habits lead to an increase in cases of dengue, malaria, cholera, typhoid, influenza, leptospirosis, and fungal infections.
Skin Disease Cases on the Rise
Dr Manoj Kumar Yadav, a skin specialist at the district hospital, has stated that the sudden temperature change is leading to an increase in cases of skin diseases. The humid weather is causing excessive sweating, making it challenging for people with sensitive skin.
Immunity Affected
The hot and humid weather is affecting the body's immunity, making it vulnerable to bacterial and viral infections. The changing weather pattern is activating different types of bacteria and viruses, which are attacking the body.
Precautions Needed
Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Ashish Singh Shekhawat has appealed to the public to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings and avoid contaminated food and water. He has also instructed doctors to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of seasonal diseases.
