Symptoms of the Disease

The disease attacks a dog's respiratory and nervous systems, causing symptoms such as watery eyes and nose, bloody diarrhoea, fever, cough, lethargy, loss of appetite, and vomiting. If left untreated, the disease can lead to severe weight loss and even death, especially in puppies.

Vaccination is the Only Solution

The only way to protect your pet dog from Canine Distemper is through timely vaccination. Puppies should receive their first vaccination at 4-6 weeks of age, followed by a series of vaccinations every 12-16 weeks. Booster doses should be administered annually. It is essential to get your dog vaccinated by an authorized veterinarian.

Precautions 

When buying a new puppy, ensure it is at least 1.5 to 2 months old and has a complete vaccination record. Maintain proper hygiene, and take precautions to prevent contact with infected dogs. Feed your dog a balanced diet, and avoid taking it to areas where infected dogs are present.
