Accused Nabbed After Six Months in Rs 28.30 Lakh Cheating Case

Surat: The Zone-4 LCB police have arrested an accused, Shriram Gandhi (38), who had been absconding for six months in a cheating case involving Rs 28.30 lakh. The accused had duped a businessman in the Pandesara area.

According to the police, Gandhi, a resident of Bhatar Dhara Complex, had started a cloth business in the name of Shiv Tex in Shri Om Textile Market in 2019.

In January 2022, he took a large quantity of grey cloth on credit from the victim but did not make the payment and fled, closing his shop.

The victim had complained to the Pandesara police, following which a case was registered against Gandhi. The police received a tip-off about his whereabouts and arrested him.
