Olympic Shooter Sarabjot Singh Vows to win Gold Medal for India in Next Olympics
Ahmedabad: Olympic shooter Sarabjot Singh, who won a medal for India by hitting the bullseye in the Paris Olympics, was felicitated on Tuesday at Gurukul Kurukshetra in Haryana. The students of Gurukul gave a grand welcome to Sarabjot, showering him with flowers and chanting slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram".
Notably, Sarabjot's coach Abhishek Rana is an alumnus of Gurukul Kurukshetra and learned shooting at the institution's shooting range. Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat, who is also the patron of Gurukul, welcomed Sarabjot and Rana. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Principal Rajkumar Garg, Director Brigadier Dr. Praveen Kumar, Principal Soubhe Pratap, Administrator Ramnivas Arya, and Shooting Coach Balbir Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Acharya Devvrat said that Sarabjot has brought laurels to India through his talent and dedication, guided by his coaches. He added that Sarabjot's visit to Gurukul would inspire the students to follow in his footsteps. The Governor emphasized that Gurukul not only imparts education but also inculcates moral values and encourages students to participate in sports according to their interests, which has resulted in Abhishek Rana, a Gurukul alumnus, becoming a coach and guiding Sarabjot to win a medal for India.
Olympian Sarabjot Singh expressed his determination to win a gold medal for India in the next Olympics.
