French Open 2017: Rafael Nadal sets up final against Stan Wawrinka

Nine-time champion Rafael Nadal has powered into a record 10th French Open final on 9 June and is all set to face 2015 winner Stan Wawrinka for the title.

Nadal achieved the feat after defeating sixth seed Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-4, 6-0.

Nadal started off with shaky start before reeling off the next sets in his favour.

The 14-time major champion was in total control after Thiem surrendered serve to start the third set.

Nadal is now bidding to become the first man to win 10 titles at a single Grand Slam.

In other clash, Wawrinka edged past Andy Murray in a five set thrilling encounter to enter the finals.

At 32, Wawrinka became the oldest man to reach the French Open final since Niki Pilic was runner-up 44 years ago.

The Swiss player prevailed the encounter with 6-7 (8-6), 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 over four and half hours to enter the finals.

He will look to win his second Roland Garros title when he faces Nadal in Sunday's final.
