Carolina Marin cruises into semi-final after beating He Bing Jiao in China Open
Spanish shuttler Carolina Marin registered her place in the semi-final of the ongoing China Open after securing a thrilling three game contest against China’s He Bing Jiao.
Carolina Marin who made a comeback after eight months having undergone surgery, came back from behind to defeat Jiao 11-21, 21-14, 21-15 in a game that lasted of over an hour.
Carolina Marin had recently pulled out of the World Championship after she was unable to recover fully from a knee injury she suffered during the Indonesia Masters final earlier this year and after which she had a surgery.
The reigning Olympic champion will now face Sayaka Takahashi of Japan for a place in the final. And this time around, there is no Indian shuttler left in the women’s single event after Sania Nehwal and PV Sindh both eliminated from the tournament.
