All England Open: Sindhu, Satwiksairaj-Chirag to lead Indian challenge

Birmingham [UK]: Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will be leading India's campaign at the 2025 All England Open badminton competition, starting in Birmingham from Tuesday. The world number 15 will return to action for the first time since January's Indonesia Masters tournament, as per Olympics.com.
Malvika Bansod joins Sindhu in women's singles
India's other challenger in the women's singles event is world number 28 Malvika Bansod, who will look to make her mark in the prestigious tournament.
Lakshya Sen eyes deep run in men's singles
In the men's singles category, world number 10 Lakshya Sen is India's top-ranked shuttler in the competition. He could face fellow Indian, world number 30 HS Prannoy, in the quarterfinals if both progress to that stage. Lakshya reached the semifinals last year, where he was defeated by champion Jonatan Christie. He was also the men's singles runner-up two years ago.
Satwik-Chirag return in men's doubles
The star men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, ranked seventh in the world, will also be in action. They have not played since January's Indonesia Masters and will aim for a strong comeback.
Strong Indian presence in women's and mixed doubles
In women's doubles, two-time All England semifinalists Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will represent India alongside Tanisha Crasto-Ashwini Ponnappa and Priya Konjengbam-Shruti Mishra.
The mixed doubles event will see three Indian pairs—Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde, Sathish Kumar Karunakaran-Aadya Variyath, and Dhruv Kapila-Tanisha Crasto—competing for top honours.
India's history at the All-England Open
The All England Open is the most prestigious tournament on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour calendar. So far, only two Indians—Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand—have won the singles title.
