On 5th June 2020, the world will be going to witness a penumbral lunar eclipse. Notably, it will be second of the four penumbral lunar Eclipse of 2020.
This time, the countries where the lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan will visible are in most parts Europe, Asia, Africa, South/East America, Australia, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and Antarctica.
The lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes in between the sun and the moon, obstruct the sunlight that is reflected by the moon.
Know the exact timings of Chandra Grahan or Lunar Eclipse in India:
On June 5, the lunar eclipse will begin at 11:15 pm and ends at 2:34 am on June 6. While the eclipse will be visible at its full stage at 12:54 am.
Sutak Period in India:
As per Hindu beliefs, when eclipse falls, no auspicious work should be done. People should be refrained from touching the idol of God or Goddesses during this period. Even the temple’s doors should be closed.
This year, Lunar eclipse will be observed for around 3 hours 18 minutes.
According to reports, due to the Upachaya Grahan, the sutak period will not be valid this year.
What is Upachaya Grahan?
During the Upachaya Grahan, the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are not aligned appropriately. Therefore, it is not mandatory to close the doors of the temples or any other religious work. It won’t have any repercussions.
Notably, this will be the second lunar eclipse of 2020. The first one was witnessed on January 10. While two more will occur in July and November 2020, respectively.
