The trailer of Mohanlal's upcoming film Villain is yet-to-be-released, but the film has already started minting money for its maker Rockline Venkatesh. The film also marks the debut Malayalam venture of Rockline Venkatesh of Rajinikanth's Lingaa and Salman Khan blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, Villain is tipped to be an out-and-out action thriller.
Earlier, Catch had reported that the audio rights of Villain have been sold for a record price.
And now, the upcoming Mohanlal starrer has set yet another record as the Hindi dubbing rights of Villain have been sold for a whopping price of Rs. 1 crore. This is so far the top price for the Hindi dubbing rights of a Malayalam film. Also, this is the first time a Hindi dubbing rights have been sold even before the release of the film.
Villain stars the Malayalam superstar in the titular role of a retired cop, Mathew Manjooran. The film stars Manju Warrier in the female lead and also marks the Malayalam debut of Tamil actors Vishal, Hansika Motwani and Telugu actress Raashi Khanna of Madras Cafe fame.
