Thursday saw the release of SS Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Conclusion at the UAE Box Office. The film stars Telugu superstar in dual roles as the father-son duo, Amarendra Baahubali, and Mahendra Baahubali. Jointly produced by Shobu Yarlagadda, Kovelamudi Raghavendra Rao, and Prasad Devineni, the film is a sequel to the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali: The Beginning. Baahubali 2 also starred Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, and Nassar.
And as expected, the SS Rajamouli film has set a new record for Indian movies at the UAE Box Office. The war drama has set a new record for the highest opening weekend collections at the UAE Box Office.
Baahubali 2, which had released in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil versions has reportedly amassed a whopping Rs. 20 crore on its opening weekend. The film unseats the highest opening weekend record of Rs. 12.91 crore set by the 2016 Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan to do the same.
It's a remarkable feat considering that even the recent blockbusters like Rajinikanth blockbuster Kabali and Baahubali: The Beginning managed to do less than Rs. 12 crore at the UAE Box Office.
