Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya and Ashwin are officially divorced

Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and her husband Ashwin Ramkumar have officially divorced now after consenting for separation mutually. Both Soundarya and Ashwin had earlier presented in court after separation and were granted divorce from the family court in Chennai. The couple have been staying separately since February 2016 and filed for divorce in September last year.

Soundarya and Ashwin got married in 2010 and they have a one-year-old son, named Ved. Soundarya has got the custody of her son.

Soundarya is known for directing her father in India's first motion capture 3D Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan, and producing Venkat Prabhu-directed 2010 Tamil comedy Goa.

A graphic designer by profession, Soundarya has worked in Tamil films such as Baba, Sandakozhi and Sivaji, among others. She is also the founder of Ocher Picture Productions. Her second directorial outing VIP 2 starring Dhanush, Kajol and Amala Paul is slated to hit the screens on July 28 2017.
