One of the most talented actors of South film industry and Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran completed 15-years of his film career on 13 September.
The young Malayalam actor made his acting debut at the age of 19 in the 2002 Malayalam film Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari. Though the film turned out to be a Box Office disaster, Prithviraj came back strongly with his second release, Nandanam. The film was a huge Box Office success and earned him the label of most promising newcomer.
For his 2006 film Vaasthavam, Prithviraj bagged the Kerala State award Best Actor to become the youngest Malayalam actor to do so. With the award, he also broke Mohanlal's 20-year-long record as well. He made his Tamil debut in 2005 film, Kana Kandaen as the main antagonist. He has acted in nine Tamil films including Mani Ratnam's Raavanan opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In 2010, he made his Telugu debut with Manmohan's Police Police and in 2012 he made his Bollywood debut with Aiyya opposite Rani Mukherjee.
Pic: Prithviraj SukumaranIn 2011, Prithviraj turned joint producer along with cinematographer-turned-director Santhosh Sivan, Tamil actor Arya and actor Shaji Nadeshan under the banner August Cinemas. In the same year, he married Supriya Menon, a BBC India reporter, in a private ceremony at Palakkad. They have a daughter, Alankrita, born in 2014.
In a 15-year-career span, Prithviraj had done close to 100 films. In fact, the 34-year old superstar has already started shooting for his 100th film.
