Malayalam actress and 2017's national award winner Surabhi Lakshmi abused for eating beef

Popular Malayalam actress and 2017's national award winner Surabhi Lakshmi became the latest victim to be abused and trolled on social media for eating beef. The incident happened on the auspicious occasion of Onam where the talented actress was seen eating beef in a special TV show aired on a popular Malayalam channel.

Surabhi Lakshmi clarified that the show was recorded a few days advance of Onam but was aired on Thiruvonam day on TV.

“The channel has been asking for my interview for quite some time and that’s when I agreed to do that program in a hotel which I usually visit. Hunger is a basic instinct of life and when I’m hungry I don’t usually care if it’s beef, chicken or pork. The issue is not that I ate beef, but that the programme was telecast during Onam,”, Surabhi Lakshmi stated.

However, the special show didn't go well among the audience as a large section of people started trolling and abusing the actress for eating beef on a festival day.
