In a shocking condition, a young Malayalam filmmaker was found mysteriously dead at her residence at her home in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The filmmaker identified as 28-year-old Nayana Sooryan had assisted several popular directors n the industry, was found dead at her residence yesterday.
According to reports, Sooryan's exact cause of death will be found only after her autopsy report is ready. Police said that she was undergoing treatment for diabetes for some time. Sooryan is survived by her parents and two siblings.
Reportedly, the mother of Sooryan alerted her friends after her phone went unanswered several times. When Sooryan’s friends reach her residence, she was found in her bedroom.
Sooryan marked her career as an independent director through Crossword, a 2017 anthology in which she did the sequel Pakshikalude Mananam with actors Vijay Babu and Mythili.
Earlier to that, she had worked with several leading filmmakers, including late Lenin Rajendran, Kamal, Jeethu Joseph and Dr Biju as an associate director. Sources say she was also affected by the sudden death of Lenin Rajendran.
She had made her debut in the industry assisting Lenin Rajendran. She also directed several advertisements and stage shows in and outside the country.
