Kerala Box Office: Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal off to an earth shattering start!

Thalapathy Vijay has done it, yet again! The Tamil superstar's Diwali release Mersal released on 18 October and has opened to an earth shattering note at the Kerala Box Office. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal had released on a massive 290 screens to become the fourth biggest release at the Kerala Box Office after Thala Ajith's Vivegam, Baahubali 2 and Rajinikanth starrer Kabali.

As expected, Mersal took a bumper opening from early morning shows across the cinemas of Kerala. The Thalapathy starrer had nearly 190 fans shows in morning itself and all shows screened to packed houses every where. At few cinemas, opening shows started at morning 6:00 AM and the tickets for the same sold like hot cakes. Be it single screens or multiplexes, Mersal is carrying terrific occupancy throughout the cinemas of Kerala. And as per early trends, Mersal is maintaining the same occupancy in noon shows as well.

Going by the tremendous opening response, Mersal is all set to have a huge day 1 at the Kerala Box Office. The film will easily enter into the top 5 openers in Kerala. The evening/night shows will tell whether Mersal can unseat the all-time opener Baahubali 2 or not.

Mersal also stars Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and SJ Suryah.
