Kerala Box Office: Terrific advance booking for Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal, set to challenge Baahubali 2's record

Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is all set to open big at the Kerala Box Office tomorrow. The film tipped to be an action entertainer is slated to release nearly in 300 screens in Kerala.

The craze for the Vijay starrer is so huge that more than 150 fans shows are already charted in Kerala. In fact, nearly 30 fans shows are scheduled to be screened in morning itself. Be it multiplexes or single screens, Mersal is having terrific advance booking across the cinemas of Kerala. Looking at the advance booking trends so far, Mersal is all set to challenge all-time opening record of Rs. 6.27 crore set by SS Rajamouli blockbuster Baahubali: The Conclusion. Popular distribution media, Global United Media, who earlier released The Jungle Book and the Baahubali series, are distributing Mersal in Kerala.

Mersal stars Vijay in triple roles and also marks his second collaboration with Atlee, the director of his 2016 blockbuster Theri. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen. The music of Mersal has been done by AR Rahman while Baahubali writer K Vijayendra Prasad scripts the film.
