Rajinikanth's Kaala and Salman Khan's Race 3 are considered as two of the most anticipated films in the first half of 2018. While Kaala see Thalaivar playing the titular role of a powerful don living in Dharavi slums of Mumbai, Race 3 features Salman Khan as a family man with grey shades.
Earlier, the makers of Kaala announced the release date of the film as April 27. However, due to the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) strike, the makers had decided to postpone the film. Many media reported that Kaala will clash with Salman Khan's Race 3 on the auspcious occasion of Eid, which is also known as the best release time for Bollywood superstar's films.
But on Friday night, Rajinikanth's son-in-law and national award winning actor Dhanush, who's bankrolling Kaala squashed the reports and announced the new release date of the film on Twitter.
"Happy to announce that Superstar’s #kaala will release on June 7th in all languages worldwide. #makewayfortheking #thalaivar", Danush tweeted.
Tipped to be an action entertainer, Kaala has been directed by Pa. Ranjith, who had directed Thalaivar's previous release, the blockbuster Kabali. The film also stars Nan Patekar, Huma Qureshi, Samuthirakani and Anjali Patel.
