The release date of Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan's upcoming film Ira has been announced. The film with a tagline 'story of an accused’, tipped to be a crime thriller marks the directorial debut of Saiju SS, a former associate of director Vysakh of Mohanlal blockbuster Pulimurugan fame. Ira also marks the maiden production venture of Vysakh and writer Udhayakrishna, Vysakh Udhayakrishna Productions. The film also stars an ensemble star cast including Gokul Suresh, Miya George, Niranjana Anoop, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Srikanth Murali and Alencier Ley Lopez.
And now, the makers have announced the release date of Ira as March 16. The film will be releasing in a massive number of 300 screens across the India to become the biggest Unni Mukundan release till date.

Unni Mukundan was in news recently ever since the makers released the official trailer of Ira.
Be it in the action sequences or in the dialogue delivery, Unni Mukundan really stand out in the trailer and is sure to make you thrill once Ira hit the screens. His interaction with Gokul Suresh in the jail sequences followed by the hard hitting dialogues are sure to be a common topic among the audience.
The one-minute and thirty-four-second long trailer begins with the romantic angle between Gokul Suresh and Niranjana Anoop. Gokul Suresh portrays the role of an innocent youngster who seems to have been wrongly accused in the film. The trailer also features Miya George as a forest girl, Lena as a lawyer and Kailesh as a police officer.
Ira also marks the script writing debut of Naveen John and the second collaboration of Unni Mukundan and Vysakh after the 2012 blockbuster Mallu Singh. The music has been composed by Gopi Sunder while Sudheer Surendran crank the camera.
Ira will be Unni Mukundan's straight third release within a span of 75-theatrical days. His previous two releases, Masterpiece and Telugu film Bhaagamathie turned out to be blockbusters at the Box Office.
