The dialogues on GST from Thalapathy Vijay's Diwali release Mersal had landed in trouble when BJP members warned the makers to delete the scene from the film. However, after receiving maximum support from Indian film fraternity, the makers of Mersal have decided to retain the dialogues in the film.

However, BJP's warning to the Mersal makers had irked the social media users as a large section of people on Twitter are seen slamming the BJP government on the social networking site.

Twitterati stated that BJP can't handle criticism and that's why they are demanding removal of the GST scenes.

If BJP can enjoy Akshay Kumar's Toilet Ek Prem Katha, then why can't Vijay's Mersal?, a user tweeted on Twitter.

It has to be noticed that the Akshay Kumar starrer praises the current government whereas Mersal point outs the mistakes of the current government.
