Chennai box office : R Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi starrer Vikram Vedha off to a flying start

Friday saw the release of Tamil film Vikram Vedha.. Directed by husband-wife duo, Pushkar and Gayathri' and produced by S Sashikanth, the suspense thriller stars R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Vikram Vedha also marks the third directorial outing of Pushkar - Gayathri duo after Oram Po and Va.

The film opened to a flying start at the ticket windows across the Chennai city. A good opening was expected as the film is the first major Tamil release after the theaters' strike in Tamil Nadu against the Goods and Services Tax. Madhavan portrays an encounter specialist in the film and Vijay Sethupathi plays the role of a gangster.

As per early Friday reports, Vikram Vedha earned Rs. 50 lakh on its opening day at the Chennai box office.

Vikram Vedha also stars Shraddha Srinath, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prem, Kathir and John Vijay.
