Chennai Box Office: Pad Man emerges Akshay Kumar's all-time highest grosser

Akshay Kumar's recent release Pad Man is continuing its theatrical run in limited screens at the Indian Box Office. Directed by R Balki, Pad Man is based on the life of Arunachalam Murugunatham, a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The film also marks the maiden production venture of actress-turned-writer and Akshay Kumar's wife Twinkle Khanna. Pad Man starred Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in female lead roles.

Interestingly, Pad Man is rock steady across the cinemas of Chennai. After earning nearly Rs. 60 lakh on its opening weekend, Pad Man continued it's decent pace at the Chennai Box Office. The film has already crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark in the city, which is a good feat considering Bollywood films' theatrical response in Chennai. By the end of 25-days theatrical run, Pad Man has minted Rs. 1.25 crore at the Chennai Box Office. The Balki film also emerged as Akshay Kumar's all-time highest grosser at the Chennai Box Office.

Pad Man has so far minted Rs. 80 crore at the Indian Box Office.
