Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal has ended its historical theatrical run at the Australian Box Office. The film, which hit the screens on the auspicious occasion of Diwali 2017, has been directed by Atlee and bankrolled under Sri Thenandal Films. Mersal also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen in female leads.
After enjoying a solid 40 days runs, Mersal has finished its theatrical run at the Australia Box Office. The Tamil superstar film has minted a whopping A$509K (INR Rs. 2.50 crore) to become the second top grosser of 2017 and all time third grosser after Baahubali 2 and Kabali at the Australian Box Office.
Earlier, Thalapathy Vijay's January release Bairavaa too grossed an impressive A$250K (INR Rs. 1.24 crore) at the Australia Box Office.
And now, with Bairavaa and Mersal, Thalapathy Vijay has emerged as the top Indian actor with two huge grossers in 2017.
