Ajay Devgn to star in the Hindi remake of Kamal Haasan-Shankar's Indian 2, here are the details

It's known that legendary Tamil actor Kamal Haasan and hit maker Shankar have joined hands for the sequel of actor-director duo's blockbuster film Indian. The film, a vigilante crime thriller which was released in 1996, was a massive hit among the critics and audience alike upon its release.

Indian featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles and went on to become the best actor at National Film awards. The film was also India’s official submission for the Academy Award for best foreign language movie.

While the shooting of Indian 2 is yet to be commenced, there are strong reports from the Telugu media that the makers have approached none other than superstar Ajay Devgn to portray the lead role in the Hindi remake of Indian 2. Reportedly, the national award winning actor will be seen essaying the role of a cop in the film, which is rumored to be titled as Hindustani 2.

Lyca Productions, who had bankrolled Shankar's 2.0 will be producing Indian 2 as well. The makers have already roped in popular concept artist Vishwanath Sundaram. Vishwanath had earlier worked with Shankar for 2.0 and SS Rajamouli for the blockbuster Baahubali series.
