After being sacked as CBFC chief, 'Sanskari' Pahlaj Nihalani to distribute Raai Laxmi's erotic thriller Julie 2

Now, this is hilarious! After being sacked from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), the so-called-Sanskari Pahlaj Nihalani is returning as film distributor again. And much to the curiosity of the film lovers, Pahlaj Nihalani will be seen distributing South Indian actress Raai Laxmi's Bollywood erotic thriller Julie 2: Bold, Beautiful and Blessed. Yes, you read it right! Julie 2.

The film, a sequel to Neha Dhupia's 2004 erotic thriller hit Julie marks Raai Laxmi's Bollywood debut in main female lead.

According to the reports published by a leading daily, Pahlaj Nihalani was quoted as saying:

"My last films were Sridevi’s Tamil film Puli, followed by the 2016 Iranian-Indian drama Salaam Mumbai. My family loved Julie 2, it’s a bold thriller about how talented people come into the industry and then are forced to compromise. It’s a good expose with a message for aspiring actors who come from across the country and don’t get the right people or platform.Julie 2 should be given an ‘A’ certificate without any cuts. There is no vulgarity, obscenity or even a language problem.”

Meanwhile, the news of former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani turned distributor came as a shock for majority of the industry members as he was known for chopping off even kissing scenes from the films.

Written and directed by Deepak Shivdasani, Julie 2 stars Ravi Kishan in the male lead and is scheduled to hit the screens on October 6.
