Because of this intense situation in the district, the BJP’s district unit has called a 12-hour shutdown in Islampur area on Friday to protest against the killing and the "lawless situation" in North Dinajpur.
The district TMC leadership accused the BJP of fomenting trouble in the area, an allegation rejected by the latter.
