Fire breaks out at chemical godown near Kolkata's Howrah Bridge in West Bengal on Saturday, reported news agemcy ANI. The fire at a chemical godown broke out early this morning.
The godown is situated near Jagannath Ghat. The fire broke out around 2 am. Around 20 fire tenders are present at the spot. Fire fighting operations are underway. Official said that the situation is now under control.
"No casualty reported & 25 fire tenders present. Fire is yet to be controlled. We're unable to make an entry inside the building, roof in the middle part of the building has also collapsed," Debtanu Bose, fire officer said.

West Bengal fire and emergency services minister Sujit Bose and Director General of fire services are present at the spot.
No injury or casualities have been reported due to the fire. Traffic on Strand Bank Road has been diverted because of the fire, says Kolkata traffic police in a tweet.
"Due to a fire incident near Jagannath Ghat, Strand Bank Road is closed to traffic. Necessary diversion on," tweeted DCP Traffic Kolkata. The cause of fire is not known.
