Light to moderate showers, thunderstorm with isolated hailstorm over parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, and Odisha are expected today, the India Meteorological Department said on April 7.
The weather department also informed of a gradual rise in the daytime temperature by 2-4 degrees Celsius in the next five days.
Western Disturbance
A trough/wind discontinuity is running from Madhya Pradesh to South Tamil Nadu in lower tropospheric levels, along with a cyclonic circulation lies over parts of South Rajasthan in lower tropospheric levels.
- Under the influence of the above disturbances, isolated showers along with thunderstorm are expected in Maharashtra in the next three days.
- Light rainfall is also likely in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka in the next 48 hours and over Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the next five days.
- Light rainfall along with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds is predicted in parts of Odisha in the next 3 days.
- No significant weather change is likely in the rest part of the country.
Daytime Temperature Forecast
The maximum temperature was recorded in the range of 38-40 degrees Celsius in parts of Maharashtra, North Interior Karnataka, Telangana and interior Odisha. The daytime temperature in northwest India, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgar was recorded below normal temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius.
- Light showers along with thunderstorm and gusty winds are expected in isolated parts of Odisha on April 7.
- Maximum temperature is near normal in rest parts of the country.
