Weather: Rain likely in Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab today; check full forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall and thunderstorm activities in parts of Northwest India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh, on April 4.

The weather department has also stated that the rainfall and thunderstorm activities are likely to be significantly reduced from tomorrow, April 5.


Western Disturbance And Forecast

According to the IMD, a western disturbance as a cyclonic circulation lies over East Iran and its neighborhood in the middle tropospheric levels, along with a cyclonic circulation over West Rajasthan and its neighborhood in lower tropospheric levels. Another cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Bangladesh neighborhood in lower tropospheric levels.

  • Under the influence of the disturbances, light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm is expected in Western Himalayas on April 3 and April 4.
  • Isolated rainfall expected in parts of Northwest India on April 3 and April 4.
  • Isolated heavy rainfall expected in parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Assam on April 3.
  • Isolated hailstorm is also expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana And North Rajasthan.
  • No significant weather change is expected in Central and South India in the next five days.

Heat Wave Warning

Heat wave days are expected to occur over most parts of Central India, East India and Northwest India during April to June 2023. No heat wave warning for the next five days.

Last 24 Hours Weather

  • Light to moderate rainfall recorded in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Sikkim And Few Places In Jammu and Kashmir in the last 24 hours.
  • Rainfall also witnessed in parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha And In Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Kerala in the same duration.
  • Thunderstorm recorded in parts of Punjab, West Rajasthan, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Kerala and Tripura.
