Weather Forecast: Mercury to drop further in Northwest India; IMD predicts strong winds

If you have put your winter clothes inside the closet, then you should take some warm clothes out as the mercury is going to dip further.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the mercury levels are likely to drop further in parts of Northwest India as a new Western Disturbance is forming over the Western Himalaya region from February 14, 2023.


Effects of Western Disturbance:

The new Western Disturbance will bring light rainfall and snowfall to isolated parts of Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Balochistan from February 14 to 17.

Isolated parts of Arunachal Pradesh may also experience light rainfall and snowfall, along with thunderstorm and lightning on February 13.

The weather department predicts that the rest of the country will not be affected by this Western Disturbance for the next five days.

Strong Winds:

Under the influence of the new Western Disturbance, strong winds with speed of 25-35 kmph to 40 kmph are very likely in parts of Northwest India during February 13 to 15.

Heavy rainfall recorded in isolated parts of Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours.

Minimum Temperature

The night temperature has fallen down by 3-6 degrees Celsius in parts of Haryana, Delhi, South Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand in the last 24 hours.

As per the weather department, the minimum temperature was in the range of 4-7 degrees Celsius in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana in the last 24 hours.

The night temperature was in the range of 7-10 degrees Celsius in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and some parts of Madhya Pradesh and north Chhattisgarh in the last 24 hours.
