Weather: Day temperature likely to rise by 3-5 °C in North India; check full forecast

The maximum temperature is expected to increase by 3-5 degrees Celsius in parts of North India, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajathan in the next five days, said that India Meteorological Department on April 4.

The daytime temperature is also likely to rise in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghayala, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh and Tripura by 3-5 degrees Celsius during the same period.


Western Disturbance

A Western Disturbance, in the form of a trough in mid and upper tropospheric westerlies running roughly along Long. 60°E to the north of Lat. 32°N, along with a cyclonic circulation, is present over South Assam and the surrounding areas.

  • Under these disturbances, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Western Himalaya in the next 3 days.
  • Light isolated rainfall is likely in parts of Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, And Haryana in the next 24 hours.
  • Light isolated rainfall is also expected in parts of East India including Jharkhand, Sikkim, West Bengal, and Odisha in the next 24 hours.
  • Light showers likely in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in the next five days.
  • Scattered rainfall is expected in parts of Southern India including Telangana, Andhra pradesh, tamil nadu, kerala, Karnataka in the next five days.

Maximum Temperature Forecast

The daytime temperature is currently 2-4 degrees Celsius below the normal temperature; however, it is expected to rise by 3-5 degrees Celsius over the next five days.

Heat Wave Warning

Heat wave days are expected to occur over most parts of Central India, East India and Northwest India during April to June 2023. No heat wave warning for the next five days.
